Sandy Springs, MD – Over 400 generous participants gathered at Sandy Spring Friends School this Saturday to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Laps for Lexi. Page McNall, MicroHealth’s Director of Operational Performance and FSO joined the 5K run alongside the blend of supporters; those who knew Lexi, the Speight family, Sandy Spring Friends School alumni, and those who believe in turning the tables on childhood cancer so that other children and families don’t have to go through the immense pain and loss of losing a child to cancer. The celebrations of life and hope raised over $163,000 dollars this year, for a cumulative $1.1M Raised over the past 10 years.
As a Silver Sponsor this year, MicroHealth is proud to be a part of the amazing contributions Laps for Lexi has made towards battling the disease. To name a few, funds support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s National Medical Center as well as the Lexi Speight Scholarship fund at Sandy Spring Friends School. Speakers at the event included Mr. Thomas McCaffery, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and Children’s National Pediatric Oncology, all driving home the difference that Laps for Lexi has made for those afflicted and their families.
