The Anthem, DC – Come join MicroHealth on October 23rd at The Wharf in DC in supporting Military Caregivers at Heroes & History Makers 2019, a benefits event hosted by the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. Many personalities and organizations of influence will be showing their support of military caregivers at the Heroes & History Makers fundraising event including; actor and philanthropist Tom Hanks, actor and philanthropist Rita Wilson, former First Lady and philanthropist Michelle Obama, Today’s show co-host Savannah Guthrie, Washington State Senator Patty Murray, Tennessee U.S. Representative Phil Roe, and former senator and founder of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation(EDF), Elizabeth Dole.
The foundation supports military caregivers through several programs including; legislative advocacy whose initiatives involve integrating caregivers into Veterans medical care, the Dole Caregivers Fellows who use their stories to bring attention to the challenges and importance of caring for our nations veterans, Impact Forums that are dedicated to facilitate discussions on the needs of military and veteran caregivers, and Landmark Research like the EDF commissioned RAND Corporation to develop the first comprehensive, evidence-based national study of military and veteran caregivers.
