Vienna, Virginia – MicroHealth LLC, a leading Health Information Technology company, has been recognized as the sole Gold Stevie ® Award recipient in the Veteran-Owned Business of the Year category in the 22nd American Business Awards (ABA). This is their third veteran ABA award and 10th ABA overall.
As a minority-owned, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SVOSB), MicroHealth founders know a thing or two about being a member of the Armed Forces or a Veteran. During their time in the Army, MicroHealth CEO Frank Tucker and COO Claude Hines helped deploy the battlefield’s electronic health record and oversee the military’s garrison EHR. Now at MicroHealth, they’re sharing that knowledge with federal health IT partners and agencies.
MicroHealth helps the Army use advanced medical simulation capabilities to provide realistic training to over 2,500 medical and non-medical (all combatants) soldiers using direct instruction on the latest battlefield trauma and critical care techniques in a high-stress combat environment. MicroHealth also helped the Defense Health Agency integrate medical devices with its new MHS GENESIS electronic health record system in the National Capital Region. This included procuring, installing, and activating critical medical devices to ensure compliance with compatibility and cyber requirements.
MicroHealth is proud of its commitment to supporting veterans both via contracts and at corporate. In 2023, MicroHealth officially became a member of the Department of Defense’s (DOD) SkillBridge Program which provides service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service.
MicroHealth also provides free calculators and resources for Veterans on its website to help simplify the disability process.
