MicroHealth Obtains SDVOSB CVE Verification

The United States Department of Veteran affairs (VA) is a body tasked with caring for our Veteran’s Benefits and Health Care. To acquire a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business/Center for Veterans Enterprise (SDVOSB CVE) verification means that an organization has undergone the required in-depth assessment. The verification process involves multiple stages: Initiation, Examination, Evaluation, Determination, Reconsideration, and Final Determination. Note that the final two stages are for those who did not qualify in the first round due to reasons such as non-compliant documents submission or when additional information is requested. After going through a year of this process with several re-submissions, the company’s COO, Claude Hines, remarks, “The process was rigorous but understandably necessary to ensure integrity of the program.”

This verification gives SDVOSBs and veteran-owned small businesses (VOSBs) first and second priority, respectively, in satisfying VA’s acquisition requirements. It allows sole-source contracts over the Simplified Acquisition Procedures Threshold up to $5,000,000 (including options). It implements restricted competition via set-aside procedures for each category and allows additional credit evaluation factors for SDVOSB or VOSB status.  Asked about why this qualification was important, Frank Tucker, the CEO of MicroHealth had this to say, “We are a company formed by Veterans who are committed to those who have served and continue to serve…it is a symbol of the commitment we have for our Nation’s Heroes but more importantly, represents the commitment the government has to us as disabled Veterans.”

MicroHealth is a CVE Verified SDVOSB who specializes in health information technology for federal and commercial health institutions. They help health institutions make better use of information technology to support the decisions that ultimately result in better health outcomes for patients, providers, population and payers. A key differentiation to the MicroHealth approach is the Voice of the Customer program where MicroHealth leverages a team of seasoned commercial and federal health experts that include Physicians, Dentists, Mid-Level Health Providers, Health Care Administrators, Health Researchers, Public Health Practitioners, Public Health Professors, Medical Logisticians and other allied health service professionals to ensure the perspective of the customer is a priority throughout product and service delivery.
